Radio disc jockey, TV weatherman, comedian, actor, and “man of a thousand voices” Norm Grohmann has kept British Columbians tuned in and laughing during an entertainment career stretching back to the 1950s.

But it wasn’t all laughs. In his just released autobiography And Here’s Norm With The Weather Norm pulls back the curtain on his adoption, unusual and sometimes hilarious upbringing, years in radio and TV, romantic entanglements, theatre acting, Dr. Bundolo days, world travels, and voyage of self-discovery. “I’ve never been interested in or good at self-promotion,” says Grohmann. “The opportunities I’ve had and the things I’ve done just happened, I never chased after them, including this book I co-authored with a friend. It was his idea to create it, and I’m glad we did, but I wouldn’t have done it otherwise. I’m happy with the result, but will anyone want to read it? I have no idea.”

Norm’s book will be launched and available for purchase ($20, preferably cash) at an event at Peninsula Productions’s Centennial Park theatre at 2:00 pm on Sunday May 5, 2024.

Norm will kick off the book signing event informally with jokes, anecdotes, favourite voice impersonations, and a few surprises before opening the floor to questions from the audience. “I may not answer,” he deadpanned, “But they can ask questions!”
