GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES (theatrical production)
Produced by Janet Ellis
Jesse Irving as Doug:
Jesse is excited to be returning to the stage. This will mark his second show at Peninsula, following his theatre debut in their 2022 production of True West. Jesse and his co-star Maddy have shared the dream of doing this play together for nearly five years. He’s honoured to finally realize that dream and bring it to life on the Peninsula stage. Selected past film/TV credits include: In Cold Light (Saban) The Terror (AMC), Wu Assassins (Netflix), Project Blue Book (History Channel) and A Homecoming For The Holidays (Hallmark.) You will catch him next in A24’s October and Netflix’s Trinity.
Maddy Hillis as Kayleen:
Maddy is thrilled to be making her theatre debut with Peninsula! She has spent the past decade establishing herself in the film and TV world and is eager to bring her work to the stage. Her screen credits include: Smoke (Apple), Painkiller (Netflix), and Supernatural (The CW), among others. This production fulfills a long-held goal: four years ago, Maddy and Jesse first explored a scene from Gruesome in class and vowed to one day bring the full play to life. She is deeply grateful to Harrison and the team at Peninsula for the opportunity to finally see that promise realized. Hope you love it as much as we do!

For many years she was the choral director for the Marcus Moseley Chorale and along with Bill is one of the producers of the Port Moody series of concerts at the Inlet Theatre, currently in its 3rd season
This husband and wife team have a deep history in music: Bill has been an in-demand sideman for over 40 years, working as musical director and keyboard player for the legendary David Foster, while Darlene has built a reputation not just as an engaging jazz/soul/gospel singer, but an educator, choral conductor and session musician too. They met through the Vancouver- based Marcus Mosely Chorale (MMC) working together as musical (Bill) and choral (Darlene) directors. Bill and Darlene found an instant connection through a shared love of theory, complex chords and funky rhythms and soon began to co-arrange and co-write many of the MMC tunes. They have released two CDs of mostly original songs. www.wildblueherons.com

BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (Theatrical Production)
by Neil Simon
Barefoot in the Park is one of the most beloved comedies of Neil Simon. Newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter are over the moon to begin their life together in their new apartment in Manhattan. It may be small and a six-flight climb, the heating may be busted and snow may be falling through the skylight, but nothing can quash their newlywed bliss. Paul is a straight-laced lawyer and Corie a romantic free-spirit; nevertheless, opposites attract and the two are wild about each other. Corie decides to set her conservative widowed mother up with their eccentric, bohemian neighbor. A wild night ensues, one that highlights just how different Corie and Paul are. The young couple must learn how to accept and embrace their differences as they learn that marriage is no easy walk in the park.
Directed by Julianne Christie
Produced by Janet Ellis, Michele Partridge
